A world class Marine Precinct only 20 minutes from the city
Port River
- The Port River provides the perfect location for a leisurely sightseeing cruise. The Port is busy, with cargo and cruise ships, and occasionally sailing ships, entering and leaving. Get a different view of the Birkenhead Bridge, discover the Ships Graveyards and marvel at the renowned and protected Port River bottle nose dolphins which may be following you along.
Ships Graveyards
- Port Adelaide boasts one of South Australia's most significant archaeological treasures – the largest and most diverse ships graveyard in Australia accessible to non-divers. Dispersed over five sites in the quiet backwaters of the Port River, are the remains of a varied group of sailing, steam, motor and service vessels which ended their working lives in Port Adelaide.

Port Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary
- More than 300 dolphins are regular visitors to the Port River. It is the only place in the world where wild dolphins live within a city.
- The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary is an initiative of the South Australian State Government to work with the community and industry to create and manage a sanctuary for the dolphins of the Port Adelaide River and Barker Inlet - and, at the same time, create a better environment for everyone who uses the area.
